Animals are inherently more aware of and understanding of energy than most people realise - they have used it for centuries to determine if strangers are friend or foe and many are naturally very accepting of the calm Reiki energy.
Reiki is non-invasive and may be given anywhere at any time requiring no equipment or technology. There is no disruption to the animal and the animal is in control at all times - Reiki cannot be forced upon an animal. They choose to take it for as long as they like. It is very relaxing and may even help with pre/post op treatment.
In some situations, Reiki should also be considered not only for the pet, but also for the owner. For example, if the owner gets anxious when out walking the dog in certain situations (perhaps meeting other dogs, near traffic etc), the dog will pick up on this and may react in an undesirable way. Reiki may help the dog overcome its fear related reaction but when out again in the same situation with their owner who is still anxious, the dog will probably detect the anxiety and their symptoms may come flooding back.
What Happens during a session?
Before a treatment takes place, there will be a consultation to discuss details about the animal, the reason Reiki is being sought, the animals lifestyles, case history and any diagnosis that has been made. This information will determine how Reiki is offered to get the best results, Any treatment plan will always be subject to your own preference and can be changed at any time. This treatment is non-diagnostic, non-interventionist, non-manipulative and no pressure is applied.
A session would typically be carried out in the animals own home where they are relaxed and comfortable.
As a Reiki Practitioner, I am delighted to be able to offer this wonderful treatment to your pet. Please contact me to arrange a meeting where we can discuss the treatment in detail. If you feel you would also benefit from a Reiki Session, this too can be arranged
